We are Scott and Michelle, and we live in a quiet neighborhood in Barnesville, Minnesota, with our children, Andrew 19, Isaiah 18, and Kyanna 16. Our oldest daughter, Alexia, lives with her fiancé in Spokane, WA. We also enjoy the company of our cats and dogs.
I work at the school as a special education paraprofessional and own a dog sitting business. My husband, Scott, works as a locator with Moorhead Public Service. Our home is only 25 minutes from Fargo/Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, and Wahpeton/Breckenridge where there are a lot more opportunities to shop and/or participate in community activities.
A typical day in our lives, during the school year, would be Scott, Andrew, and I heading off to work. While Isaiah, a senior, and Kyanna, a sophomore, going to school. Most weekends are spent with extended family or getting tasks completed, and Sundays are usually filled with pro football, especially the MN Vikings. In the summer we enjoy camping, road tripping on a family vacation, and going to the lake.
The location of the person’s bedroom would depend upon a person’s desire or physical abilities. There is a main level bedroom or a basement bedroom. Everyone does their part in helping with chores and yard work. Expectations would be to pick up after yourself and keep your room tidy and clean. We all do our own laundry, but help can be provided if needed.
Our family shows that we care for one another by spending quality time together, whether we are having a family meal, game or movie night, camping, going to the lake, or cheering on Isaiah at his football or basketball games. Our family enjoys being with one another, along with our extended families. We would welcome a new addition to our family with open arms, and hopefully he/she would feel comfortable with making themself at home, hanging out with us and getting to know our family. All of us are pretty social and would try our best to make our house a home for someone new.
